Charge it completely, or do so while plugged in charging. Never attempt anything with a low battery.
 

Nook menu arrow at the bottom of the screen ---->> device settings  ---->> Device info ---->> Erase & Deregister

You'll need to rip the DVD to your computer, convert the file to a compatible format (.mkv, .avi), and transfer to the Nook. You'll probably also need to get a movie player app that can properly play the format you choose.
